Erchong Floodway is the lung of Sanchong, and currently is the largest urban park of Taiwan. The unique Erchong Floodway originally was the largest flood waterways in Taipei area, having 700 Jia (one Jia = 9,699.17 m2) green spaces and a circle bikeway straight to Tamsui, Bali, Wugu and Luzhou; the fresh and vast green turf is the best leisure place for people bringing their family to view. Since the wetland park opened in New Taipei Bridge, more than 30 species of birds, such as Brown Shrike, Common or Green-winged Teal, Mallard, Spotted-necked Dove, Crested Myna, and Japanese White-eye in underbrush and swamp are more and more, where is a good place most suitable for cloud viewing and bird watching.
In recent years, a large number of parks are established in Sanchong in order to enhance landscaping; no matter in park style or design, there is a refreshing feeling, including Zhongshan Art park, 228 Peace Park, Liuzhang Park, Guojun Park, Datong Park, Dazhikaiyuan Park, Chongyang Park, Bihua Park, and the largest Environmental Protection & Natural Park in east area, etc., total 47 parks and 2 squares in whole district. They have played diverse functions of cultural and recreational activities, tourism, leisure, and education, so that this district is full of joy of life and peoples happiness index is improved a lot.
