The local most famous Xianse Temple began in 1745 when the surnamed Lee from Quanzhou reclaimed Wukuwang area, Erchoung, and the Wuguwang Temple (Xianse Temple) was named due to worship of Shen Nong Dadi. “Wugu Xiandi Temple” called by the folk is the oldest temple in Sanchong City, also the 3rd class historical site only within Sanchong City, worshiping Shen Nong Dadi, and its early craftsmen’ masterpieces are still visible. With unending stream of pilgrims, it is the religious center of Sanchong since ancient times.
Another historic Taipu Temple with aloof and elegant environment, so close to the Floodway, is a good place for family outing; there are great Sanchong calligrapher Cao Rong’s precious relics both in Taipu Temple and Xianse Temple.
