Transportation Hub

Early external transportation of Sanchongpu is by ferry, and since Taipei Bridge is built, the traffic media following ferry of Sanchongpu is bridge. Now there are a total of eight main access bridges of Sanchong District: Taipei Bridge and Freeway is access to Datong District, Taipei City; Zhongxing Bridge is access to Wanhua District, Taipei City; Zhongzheng Bridge is access to Zhongzheng District, Taipei City; Chongyang Bridge is access to Shilin District, Taipei City; Chongxin and Zhongshan Bridges are access to Xinzhuang District of this city; and the Xinbei Bridge opened in recent years is access to Banqiao, Zhonghe and Xinzhuang Districts. Bridges are the transportation lifelines of Sanchong, also a great geographical characteristic of Sanchong.

In roads, Sanho Road and Chongxin Road are the oldest major roads of Sanchongpu, also the starting point of Sanchong District development; however, the most prosperous place of Sanchong District has been in Zhengyi N. Road; on this short main line, shops, banks and medical clinics are dense, with heavy traffic that is now regarded as the center of Sanchong District.

The opening of MRT Luzhou Line and MRT Xinzhuang Line are regarded as the most important public transportation construction of Sanchong in last year or two, since then Sanchong closer links Taipei city center. After these two MRTs are opened, it seems that all people of Sanchong District are “moving up” to show a new healthy and vital Sanchong. In addition, Taoyuan International Airport MRT line currently under construction will also pass Sanchong Station of this district, which is expected to bring more tourism opportunities and prosperity of this district.

To create a waterfront city, New Taipei City Government will follow the context of Danshui River to establish Zhongxiao Wharf and Huajiang Wharf in the middle and upper reaches, extending the blue highway to the confluence mouth of the Xindian River; Now, the Water Bus route is Huajiang Wharf–Zhongxiao Wharf–Dadaocheng Wharf, and the regular routes (lines) have been ready. We are looking to build the relationships of the banks and the city by waterbus, and see the roaming life of Danshui River embracing the great Taipei riverside again.
